Delhi-Mussoorie trip
Headed to Mussoorie on 10th July night accompanying a group of about 45 people in two 27 seater A/c buses. Although the main route to Mussoorie is via Merrut,Khatauli,Muzaffarnagar,Roorke Dehradun and onto Mussoorie we had to take an alternative road as it was Saawan maas, the month when the Kanwadias travel to collect the Ganges water from Haridwar and take it back to their local Shiv temple on foot. So the main highway had been taken over by them so we took another route via Merrut, Mawana, Meerapur, Bijnaur,Najibabad, Haridwar, Dehradun onto Mussoorie, the route was longer by about 50 k but very less crowded and the route between Haridwar and Najibabad is through Rajaji forest area and a wonderful one. The weather had cooled down as we started our climb to Mussoorie from Dehradun and soon we engulfed in mist and clouds all around. Must say this natural a/c is much better than the artificial one.
